Monday, March 91 Corinthians 1:18-25The older I become the wiser my parents seem, even at this age. Their words of wisdom and guidance were not the foolishness I believed went in one ear and out the other. Through the eyes of a child, my parent’s discipline and rules seemed mean and meaningless at times. Now I know these were wise words from God. Truth does not change with age or situation. Truth is always at the center of Gods’ gospel message to each of us leading us to our destiny with Christ. My parents understood that telling the truth upsets some folk, but the truth never lets you get caught up in webs of lies and deceit. God is love and truth. This is God’s primary relationship and purpose with each of us. God’s goal is to be our parent who guides us to right and truthful relationships with each other. God never wants us to be foolish. Truth always rises to conquer fear, hate, confusion and ignorance. With truth comes the peace God gives to you and others. This was the mission of Jesus ... to bring peace and truth to a world of lies and distortion about the human condition. May this season of Lent be one of contemplation about telling the truth. Living truthfully is God’s purpose for each of us as we walk towards our destiny and resurrection. Shalom. |
