John 2: 23-25

Many passages in the New Testament, including this one, indicate that Jesus moved and lived among the people of Jerusalem.  He was familiar with the rituals and beliefs of his fellow Jews.  Most importantly is that he knew their hearts, their feelings, and their loves.

Many believed in the miracles Jesus performed.  Jesus believed in the peoples' hearts and in their capacity to love one another.
