John 3: 14-16

John 3:16: “For God so loved the world, that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

“In a nutshell”, there you have it.

It’s really rare, given all the written word represented in the Holy Bible, for something to be distilled down to its core and handed to us. So simple…So eloquently written…So easy to comprehend…or is it?

How amazing to be given an insight into how much God loves us! Do we really stop and take it in? Are we prepared to receive the gift?

How much does a parent love a child? Isn’t it about the ultimate in love? Wouldn’t a loving parent be willing to do just about anything for their child? Yet God loves the world (us) so much that He gave up his only Son, Jesus, to be crucified on a cross, so that if we believe in Him, we have the promise of everlasting life!

Well, I believe in Jesus. Does that get me in? Is it just the simple issue of believing that the Man, Jesus existed?
This is probably where it gets a little more complicated, right?
“…that whosoever believeth in Jesus…”
How do you define what it means to believe in Jesus and are you prepared for the gift that comes so freely to you, if you do believe?
