John 12:27-33

The Greatest Sacrifice

Jesus made a triumphant entry into Jerusalem during his last days.  A great crowd came to see Jesus because they’d heard about the miraculous works and deeds that he had performed.  While Jesus was praised as the King of Israel, he talked to God about his death.  Jesus understood that his life was to be sacrificed for all mankind.  Jesus tells the crowd that he will be lifted from the earth and all mankind drawn to him for eternal life.

During this time of Lent we should do as Jesus did and listen to the voice of God.  Jesus glorified God through his teachings, acts of love, kindness, compassion, and sacrifice. As we interact with others are we teaching the word of God through our words and deeds?  Are we kind and compassionate to our family, friends and neighbors?  Do we sacrifice our comforts of life to help others?  These are the least of things that we can do since Jesus made the greatest sacrifice of all.
