John 12:12-16

After reading and re-reading the scripture John 12: 12-16 I felt there was no way I could write a devotion from these words. How can I relate to the story of the large crowds welcoming with excitement and expectancy the arrival of Jesus to Jerusalem? So I put my paper and bible away until I could find some inspiration.

Two weeks later I am thinking of the story again of the people celebrating this man who spoke with authority of God's love for all people. Then I realize we have just witnessed a pageant of more than a million people flooding our capital city welcoming with emotion and expectancy a man who is promising to lead our country with justice and opportunity for all.

Hopefully, our nation which means us, will be inspired anew to do our part to change injustice, protect our planet and generously educate our children. Jesus came to show us the way... we ask God to help us make it so.
