appear to have a key. Decided to re-key all exterior doors and use a key that cannot
be duplicated.

the sanctuary is currently not
functioning. It will be repaired, soon.

wheelchair access to the church.

In the Kagawa Room . .. there is hot water from the

BEFORE YOU LEAVE ON VACATION . . .
Stop the mail and the newspapers, leave a lamp in the window on a timer, be sure all the doors and windows are locked -- AND, make arrangements to keep your pledge current while you're away. The church's expenses continue even during the summer. Only you can prevent the summer financial slump.

Pew Tender Needed
Susan Sanderson has been a Pew Tender in this church for many, many years. She is resigning her position due to many changes in her life including a new puppy and travel opportunities. Susan says that she is very grateful for the opportunity to have served the church in this capacity and we are very grateful to her for her dedicated service.
Would you be interested in taking her place? Please call the church office for more information.
CONFIRMATION CLASSES BEGIN
Confirmation refers to the decision a person makes to respond to God’s grace with intentional commitment, publicly reaffirming his or her baptismal vows before the congregation. Most confirmands are youth between the ages of eleven and fourteen who have been nurtured in the church since their baptism. During Confirmation Class you will learn about the meaning of Christian faith, the history and teachings of the United Methodist Church and an explanation of the baptismal and membership vows you will be professing. Please call the church office if you are interested.
The Irreplaceable: Wildlife in a Warming World Campaign
The Irreplaceable: Wildlife in a Warming World campaign is a partnership of faith, science, justice and art to educate policymakers and the public about the impact of global warming on wildlife. It combines the beauty and power of images with inspiration and knowledge from science, religion and conservation law.
Polar bears depend on sea ice, and during summer months they migrate up to hundreds of kilometers to remain near it. Polar bears use sea ice as a platform for hunting ringed seals, their main source of both food and water. But as sea ice disappears, polar bear habitat is literally melting away. Disappearing ice robs them of their hunting grounds, breeding sites, and travel routes, forcing them to exhaust themselves swimming long distances to land. Scientists believe polar bears will not survive if predictions of complete sea ice loss come true. (Source Irreplaceable: Wildlife in a Warming World)
With a series of characteristic peeps, the piping plover lays two to four eggs at a time, tucking them in sandy beaches and gravel along the Atlantic coast, the shores of the Great Lakes, and parts of the Midwest and Canada. Flooding is already a major cause of nest failure in piping plovers, and rising sea levels threaten to overwhelm these fragile nests even further. The piping plover’s plight is shared by many other shorebirds, such as gulls, terns, and skimmers who nest on coastal beaches and would be harmed by rising sea levels.
